2nd English class

 Hello everybody, are you fine? In this second we will start Simple Past 

Regular Past simple forms are formed by adding -ed to the infinitive of the verb. 

Para formar verbos regulares do passado  basta acrescentar "ed "no final           

start → started

kill → killed

jump → jumped

 There are some spelling rules. If a verb ends in -e, you add -d. ( Quando o verbo termina  com "e" basta acrescentar "d"

agree → agreed

like → liked

escape → escaped

Past simple – regular verbs

Write the past simple form of the verb in brackets.

A) Passe os verbos  em parenteses  para o passado 

1. The cat               (escape) from the garden.

2. They              (agree) with me about the album.

3. He          (try) to start the car.

4. We           (enjoy) the funfair a lot.

5. Tell me, what       (happen)?

6. She          (stop) at a zebra crossing

B) Passe as frases para o passado simples

 a) The baby cries. ______________________________________ 

b) You open the windows. ______________________________________ 

c) Sharon visits her aunt. ______________________________________

 d) The scientists invent new machines. ______________________________________ 

e) I talk to the doctor. 

C)  Complete as lacunas com os verbos NO PASSADO entre parênteses:

 1.Mary ________________ nice clothes last week (buy). 

2.Joan ________________ some e-mails to her relatives last month (send).

 3.They ________________ to Los Angeles yesterday (fly)

. 4.We _________________ a nice vacation last year ( have).

 5.I ___________________ good books some weeks ago (read). 

6.He __________________ a lot of juice last vacation (drink).
